Philippians 4:8...Think About the Good Things...

Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. 

We all have moments when our thoughts start to drift into worries or we find ourselves thinking about all of the wrong things or bad things that we see going on in the world around us. Paul, in his letter to Philippians, instructed Christians there to think on things that are noble, right and pure. This is not always an easy task and it is not an instruction meant to have us be ignorant of our surroundings. Rather it is an instruction that draws or attention back to God and to His amazing creation. Finding the good in those around us and looking for the beauty of God’s creation takes a bit of work but is always very satisfying. Look around you today and see the good in people and take a deep breath and enjoy the tapestry that God has laid out before you. Thank you Lord for everything!!
