Philippians 4:12-13...Little or Much, Thank God...

I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through him who gives me strength.

The drive of most of the first world countries population, and especially America, is the constant need to acquire more stuff. This problem has been fueled even more by the “get it now” opportunities of internet shopping and easy financing. The days of being genuinely grateful have all but vanished. One of the many ways that we can lead as Christians is by example and to that end we should be able to teach the principle of being content in every situation of life. Whether plenty or in want we all should remain thankful for what God provides and for the comfort He brings. We were brought into this world without a single possession and we will take exactly the same amount with us when we are called home and depart this life. With that in mind we should be extremely thankful each day for the many things that God allows us to experience and to possess, even though they are temporary. Give thanks to God who gives us strength through Jesus Christ for He is GOOD!
