1 John 4:7-10…God Is Love...

Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.  Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.  This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.  This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.

God is Love. We have heard this phrase for many years and we can see it here in these verses. In our world today we see so much hate and fighting. Jealousy and turmoil prevail as satan provokes those without Christ. We see it in every direction we turn, promoted by broadcast and fostered by those who relish control over our lives. Sometimes it seems that we are unable to find the truth hidden within the lies and deceit. The simple test of truth and righteousness is Love. God gave us love and those of us who know Him know what love means and we know its source. Love overcomes hatred and love prevails. Without love there is darkness and death. God showed His love for us in sending Jesus to die for our sins. We have freely accepted His love and are given love to share with others so that they might see that God is Love…
