2 Peter 3:14-15…Waiting for Others...

So then, dear friends, since you are looking forward to this, make every effort to be found spotless, blameless and at peace with him. Bear in mind that our Lord’s patience means salvation, just as our dear brother Paul also wrote you with the wisdom that God gave him.

As Christians we struggle with all of the hatred, greed, lust and sin that exist in the world. We long for the promise of eternity with God in Heaven and a place of comfort and grace. We hear many of our contemporaries express that Jesus is coming soon and we hope alongside of them that this is indeed the fact, however, we cannot forget about what the scripture above reminds us is true. That while we desire to have our Lord return expeditiously, every moment that He tarries is another opportunity for someone else to find salvation. Therefore while we are eager we must be patient and revel in the fact that everyday there are many who come to know Jesus and are gloriously saved by His sacrifice. Along with this we need to make every effort to tell those that we meet about Jesus as this is our calling. We should share the love of Christ and express through our living the grace and mercy that He has so richly bestowed upon each of us. Although we long to be home with our Savior we must be patient until His perfect timing is complete. Love, share and invite the lost to know Jesus…

Blessings,
