Exodus 16:21-22...Our Provision...
Each morning everyone gathered as much as they needed, and when the sun grew hot, it melted away. On the sixth day, they gathered twice as much—two omers for each person—and the leaders of the community came and reported this to Moses.
The Israelites were unhappy. They were used to a good diet and now they were in the dessert and suffering. They complained and God brought them provision. Manna in the morning and Quail in the evening. These provisions came with specific instructions though. They were supplied daily and should only be gathered and used for that day. Typical to sinful man, many gathered more than needed and tried to store it overnight, but that plan failed. The manna and quail were rotted and unfit to eat. The lesson for the Israelites and for us is that God will provide all that we need for today. We need not look far into the future, rather we should be focused on today and enjoy our provisions for this moment in time. God will provide, he will meet our needs and He will always be there for us.
