Exodus 20:2-3...God First...

“I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery.
 “You shall have no other gods before me.

The very first commandment given by God to Moses is found here. It is the very basis of all the other commandments and the one that is of upmost importance in guiding our lives. We must put God first. If we allow treasures or wealth or hobbies or anything else to become first in our lives then we are placing them before God. It is easy to do and something that we have to pay attention to everyday. Simply reminding ourselves, throughout the day that God is in control and has brought us to where we are today, is a good practice, however we cannot get to a point of complacency and forget who is responsible for our success. God is faithful, He is loving and kind, He showers us each day with His blessings and keeps us under His wing, protecting and providing for us. Take a moment or two each day to pause and praise Lord and thank Him for all that He provides.
