Genesis 22:13-14...Sacrifice for Each of Us...

Abraham looked up and there in a thicket he saw a ram caught by its horns. He went over and took the ram and sacrificed it as a burnt offering instead of his son So Abraham called that place The Lord Will Provide. And to this day it is said, “On the mountain of the Lord it will be provided.”

We have read and heard the story of how God tested Abraham by asking him to sacrifice his son and then providing the substitution of a ram in place of his son as the sacrifice. We also understand that this was a sign of the sacrifice that Jesus would make for all mankind. This is the very basis of our salvation, the sacrifice. God substituted His only Son, Jesus, in place of our sin to offer to us the only path to salvation and redemption. Jesus paid the ultimate price on the cross for each of us and for our sin. Looking back over history and studying the scripture we can easily see the relationship between Abraham and Issac and Christ's sacrifice for our sins. We stand in awe of God’s amazing love and of His mercy for us. Thank you Lord and Praise be to your Holy Name.
