Genesis 9:12-13...Look to the Sky...

And God said, “This is the sign of the covenant I am making between me and you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all generations to come: I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth.

How many times before and after a thunderstorm have you seen a rainbow in the clouds? Do you feel that overwhelming sense of what that rainbow means while you gaze upon its beauty? The answer is yes. This feeling within us is the covenant that God sent after obliterating every living creature from the earth with a flood that covered the earth. God is powerful. He reigns supreme. And yet He has compassion for His creation and has established a sign that reflects His promise to us eternally. God cares for us. He wants us to commune with Him, to walk with Him and to listen to His Word. Our Heavenly Father has given us many promises and the rainbow is one that strikes awe within our hearts and minds. Notice how difficult it is to look away and how comforted you feel to see His sign in the sky. Thanks you Lord, praise you Holy Name.
