Matthew 15:10-11...From the Heart...

Jesus called the crowd to him and said, “Listen and understand. What goes into someone’s mouth does not defile them, but what comes out of their mouth, that is what defiles them.

The world around us has seemingly turned upside down. Nothing is quite as it should be. Take a few minutes and pull back from everything. Stop, look and listen. You will notice that there is a lot of noise. Whenever anyone is slightly offended the noise gets louder. Whenever someone’s opinion is different the volume increases. Before long there are words that are exchanged that are harmful and pointed. This is where we need to be cautious. To take a breath and understand that what we say has real meaning. Our words will always resonate with someone and if we are not careful we can become a hindrance to someone’s daily walk. Our speech should be truthful, seasoned and delivered with love. If we expect the lost to show the love of Christ we will be disappointed. We, as Christians, must lead with love and always keep watch over our tongues.
