1 Peter 3:15-16...Think Before You Speak...
But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander.
How often do we pause and really think about the answer that we are about to give? Do we consider the tone or the manner in which we answer? It is so easy to just blurt out what we are thinking and not give consideration or thought to how we present ourselves. Instead we ought to remember that our words should be seasoned with salt and good for those that hear them. Likewise we should be ready with our speech and always ready to lift up the name of Christ and glorify Him with all that we say. Be careful in what you say as well as how you present yourself, always remembering that others should see Christ in us.
