Matthew 22:37-40...Love is the Most Excellent Thing...

...“‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

The Pharisees were diligent in trying to entrap Jesus with their endless questions and probes. Here they tried to trick Jesus by asking Him which was the greatest commandment. Jesus knew the question even before it was asked and more than that He knew the hearts of those that ask the question. The answer He gave is a marvelous revelation of the life we should lead. A life that is spent loving and learning about our Savior,  Jesus Christ, along with loving our neighbors and treating them as equals or better in our own eyes. Can you imagine a world that adhered to these two simple principles. It starts with each of us. Study God’s Word and reach out to a friend or neighbor today.
