Matthew 20:25-28..How May I Serve You?...
Jesus called them together and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them. Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be your slave— just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
Seems like these days everyone wants to be in charge. This desire springs from a misconception that lording over others will bring some type of satisfaction or peace of mind. The truth is that the greatest satisfaction is found when we serve others, humbling ourselves to be nothing more than a servant. Jesus came to the world as a servant, prepared to heal and forgive, to humbly serve the people around Him. It is this humble heart that we need to embrace as it is the epicenter of our ministry. We are never more like Jesus than when we serve others, love others, care for and forgive others. Exploit every opportunity you have to share the love of Christ.
