Matthew 18:21-22...You Are Forgiven..
Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven times?” Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.
Forgiveness is a tough thing sometimes. Beside the fact that we have been wronged we have our pride bruised, our ego dinged and our feelings hurt. This makes it difficult at best to be able to look upon those that have inflicted this pain upon us with any type of forgiveness, yet this is the directive Jesus gave to Peter and the disciples. Not just to forgive but to continue to forgive, not seven times but seventy-seven times. Non-forgiveness simply builds up anger, hate, resentment and tears away at our trust, love and compassion. It degrades everything good and turns it into something bad. God knows that we need to have loving and forging hearts. He taught us this great lesson by forgiving us of our sins and He continues to forgive us forever. Follow His great example and be ready to forgive rather than to blame.
