Matthew 4:8-11...Know Your Adversary..

"Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor. 'All this I will give you,”he said, 'if you will bow down and worship me.’ Jesus said to him, 'Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.' Then the devil left him, and angels came and attended him.”

The devil is cunning and looking for a way to draw us away from God. He took Jesus high above the land and offered Him the kingdoms of the world if He would bow down and worship satan. How crafty and yet delusional the devil is when trying to get our attention. He offered Christ something that was not his to give, a false and empty promise. When we are not careful to measure everything by what we know to be true and just through our knowledge of the scriptures, we allow the opportunity for temptation to succeed and for the devil to gain a foothold. Reading and studying God’s Word gives us the ultimate tool against the fiery darts that come our way, against the sorted temptations and against the devil himself. Use the sword when confronted and defeat the conqueror at every turn.
