Matthew 3:1-3...Listen Carefully and You Will Hear...
"In those days John the Baptist came, preaching in the wilderness of Judea and saying, 'Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.' This is he who was spoken of through the prophet Isaiah:
“A voice of one calling in the wilderness,‘Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him.’”
The revelation of that which was foretold was at hand. John’s ministry was the preparation of his people to hear, understand and react to the promise of repentance and forgiveness through Christ. John was uniquely used by God for this purpose. A child of a man who was incapacitated by being struck dumb before John’s birth, here John has become the voice in wilderness. God uses circumstances that we consider impossible to bring forth the most spectacular display of His power. God has a purpose for each of us and when we are willing to humble ourselves before Him and seek His will, the path will be revealed. God can use anyone, in any circumstance, for His glory. Remember, He is Lord over all!
