Matthew 6:5-8...Let Us Pray...
“And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standingin the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him."
Praying is an essential part of the Christian life. We come to our Father to give thanks, to lift up our praise and honor Him. We bring our petitions before Him and lay them at His feet. It is a time of communion with God, a time to talk and a time to listen. One of the great things that I am reminded of each time I read this passage is the fact that our Father knows what we need before we even ask. I have to just pause and let that sink in. I have no need to ask because the Father knows my request yet I am drawn to humble myself before Him and ask for that which He is already aware. God is so good, His plan is perfect and His ways are perfect. Find time to talk with the Father each and every day.
