Mark 12:29-31...With all your heart...

“The most important one,” answered Jesus, “is this: ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.”

In the current climate of the world around us it often hard to find love at all, let alone love for our neighbors. It seems that most everyone is out for themselves and will do almost anything to rise to the top or to tear others down and cast them aside. Hatred and greed are the exact opposite of the today’s scripture and are satan’s greatest tools to pit us against each other. Jesus clearly states that we have two directives in our lives. One to love him, with everything we can muster, and secondly to love everyone as much as we love ourselves. Imagine if you would for a moment what possibilities would be offered the world around us if these two commandments were used daily. No need to imagine, because it starts with each of us and it is our privilege to share this with others.
