Philippians 2:3-4 Do nothing out of selfish ambition

Good Morning,

Philippians 2:3-4

“Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves.  Each of you should look not only to your own interest, but also to the interest of others.”

It is difficult to imagine in our world today that anyone considers others first. We are surrounded by news that often centers around the person telling the story or we are bombarded by tidbits of information about what everyone is doing throughout their day. Instead of reposting what we are doing, should we not be reaching out to ask what is going on each other’s life? Instead of trolling through the social media chains should we not reach out to our friends and acquaintances to engage in conversation about their interest? The kind and gentle art of conversation is slowly being lost to the tweet and post and we are suffering the opportunity to really drill down on the interest of others instead of viewing them with a distant gaze. Try today to reach out and sincerely have a conversation with a friend, you will be surprised how much interest you might gain by simply talking.

Blessings,
