2 Timothy 4:2-3 Preach the Word, be prepared in season and out....

Good Morning,

2 Timothy 4:2-3

“Preach the Word, be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke, and encourage - with great patience and careful instruction. For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.”

Nothing is more evident of the incline of our churches today than these prophetic words of Paul. People will gravitate to those that espouse teachings that they want to hear rather than listen to truths that they know are correct, righteous and forthright. Whether it is spiritual laziness or the unwillingness to hear the truth, many today give up the joy and fulfillment of understanding how correction and encouragement work hand-in-hand to help us grow in our spiritual life. If we are always hearing only what we desire to hear and ignoring that which we know to be correct, even though it is right, we become complacent in our faith and reject the possibility of growth through sound doctrine. Imagine if we raised our children this way. They would never understand clearly right from wrong. Our days cannot always be roses without the thorns that accompany them. Be strong in your faith and seek the truth that only God can give.

Blessings,
