Luke 1:34-38...God's Vessel...

“How will this be,” Mary asked the angel, “since I am a virgin?”
The angel answered, “The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God. Even Elizabeth your relative is going to have a child in her old age, and she who was said to be unable to conceive is in her sixth month. For no word from God will ever fail.”

“I am the Lord’s servant,” Mary answered. “May your word to me be fulfilled.” Then the angel left her.

Mary’s question was solid, how could she possibly become pregnant when she was still a virgn?. The angel Gabriel answered her and revealed the miraculous plan of God. Oh what a marvelous plan and a wonderful gift to the world. Before the beginning of time God had set into motion His master plan, knowing that man would need the birth of Christ and the salvation of the cross. Even though Mary had questions about what was about to transpire in her life her response was that of a servant of God. “May your word to me be fulfilled.” Oh that we might have the same humble heart and willingness to serve God in such a fashion as to respond in like manner. As we navigate through life and the exigencies that we face our focus needs to be on the Word of God. We need to spend time alone with His Word and listening to how we might apply it to our lives. Praise God for His promise of the birth of Christ and for His fulfillment of that promise.
