Colossians 1:28-29...Maturing in Christ...

He (Christ) is the one we proclaim, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone fully mature in Christ. To this end I strenuously contend with all the energy Christ so powerfully works in me.

Work is hard. Even though we may enjoy our work there are times that it is tough and requires a lot of energy to accomplish our task. Do we put forth an equal amount of energy to the study of Christ through the Word of God? In his writings Paul often challenges us to spend more time with God, to seek God’s direction for our lives and to prepare ourselves to defend our faith. In the troubled world that Paul lived and the equally troubled world that we find ourselves this is sound advice. We need to be firm in our foundation and rock solid in our faith, ready to face the challenges that will certainly come. I encourage you also to study and to talk with God daily.
