Mark 11:24-25…Forgiveness First...
Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.
We tend to pass over the most important part of these verses in the light of asking our Heavenly Father and believing that we will receive. Forgiveness is difficult for us to administer. Usually because the offense has hurt us greatly and often the wound is still fresh. Never-the-less we are to forgive, just as we have been forgiven. It is during this process that we are most like Jesus and it is also during this time that we understand what true, unmerited love is all about. This is the time that we draw close to God. If we are able to forgive, and we are, we experience the outpouring of the Holy Spirit and the overwhelming love of God. It is then that we understand what we need and what to ask our Heavenly Father for in prayer…
