Psalm 27:13-14...Wait On The Lord...
“I would have lost heart, unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait on the Lord; be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart; wait, I say, on the Lord!”
Waiting is one of the hardest things in life. No one wants to wait in line. Our current society makes waiting seem as though it were a punishment. Our patience is worn thin by waiting for something to arrive or for a situation to change, yet some of the best advice ever given includes the word “wait”. We have become a society of instantaneous satisfaction. We can order something online and have it delivered to our front door the next day. Questions that we have can be researched from our laptop computers and food can be picked up by driving through the take-out. If we are not careful we let life accelerate to the point of crashing. We have to be careful not to be in a hurry or to get ahead of God’s plan or direction for our lives. Waiting is important because He has a perfect plan and the greatest reward. Although it is difficult for us, in our nature, to pause and wait, it is to our benefit to take a breath, look upward and wait for the goodness of the Lord.
