Luke 18:13-14...Lift Up Others...
“But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, ‘God, have mercy on me, a sinner.’ I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before God. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.”
It is difficult, at best, in the current world of social media and constant communication to stay humble. So many around us are quick to promote themselves to the top of the viewing cycle. The number of views you have raises your value within the social circle which is short lived and hollow. Many who follow you or scan the multiple source of social media have no real vested interest in your life. This is not where our focus should be. We are about the work of Christ, sharing His love and promoting grace and mercy without recognition or praise and only for the glory of God. This is best accomplished in quiet conversation or face-to-face visits that bring warm smiles and caring words. Our conversation with those we love is not on display for the world to see. Our focus should always be on helping others and seeking after God’s direction.
