Luke 17:3-4...Forgiveness Always...
…”If your brother or sister sins against you, rebuke them; and if they repent, forgive them. Even if they sin against you seven times in a day and seven times come back to you saying ‘I repent,’ you must forgive them.”
Forgiveness is not just a suggestion that Jesus is laying out for us to pick up and use whenever we feel it is justified or applicable. Instead it is a directive, a command, a must. Jesus has forgiven us of all our sins. Unworthy as any of us are to receive such a blessing, we have and yet we continue to remain stingy with our forgiveness toward others. We should be prepared, heart and soul, to forgive when the time comes. Large or small, no matter the offense, we should always be ready to forgive others. You may say “well I just can’t forgive them for that”, and that may be true, but through prayer and in keeping with the will of God we are able to forgive. Keep in mind how undeserving you are of Christ’s forgiveness, yet it is there and free for the asking.
Blessings,
