Genesis 24:12-15...On Time God...
Then he prayed, “Lord, God of my master Abraham, make me successfult oday, and show kindness to my master Abraham. See, I am standing beside this spring, and the daughters of the townspeople are coming out to draw water. May it be that when I say to a young woman, ‘Please let down your jar that I may have a drink,’ and she says, ‘Drink, and I’ll water your camels too’—let her be the one you have chosen for your servant Isaac. By this I will know that you have shown kindness to my master.” Before he had finished praying, Rebekah came out with her jar on her shoulder. She was the daughter of Bethuel son of Milkah, who was the wife of Abraham’s brother Nahor.
When Abraham’s chief went to seek out a wife for Issac he was careful to pray for guidance and direction. He had sworn an oath to his master and was on a mission of vital importance. When he arrived at the appointed place he prayed a more specific prayer that the future wife of his master’s son would offer to draw water for him and also for his camels. Most notable in this story is the verse that says “Before he had finished praying”. Before he could finish his request God was providing the answer. Our Heavenly Father cares deeply about our lives and about our request. Our focus should be on the path God has set before us and our prayer should be for Him to provide that which He has promised along the way.
