2 Corinthians 9:6-8...Be Generous...

Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.

If we listen to the world around us we would find ourselves buying the latest and greatest and always going into debt for material things that we really don’t need. Yes, there are a great many things that we do require. Such as a roof over our head, food to eat, transportation to and from and clothes on our backs. It is the excess that causes most financial problems. Buying on credit until credit is exhausted and then the real problems begin. Paul writes here about being generous with giving to others, sowing seeds of generosity and reaping a harvest of abundant treasures. If we are cheerful and generous givers of our time, resources and monies, we will receive more in return than we can possibly imagine. Abundantly is the word Paul was given to describe this blessing.
