Matthew 6:19-21...Find the Treasure...

“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”

Which treasure is greater for you, that which you gather and store here on earth or that which is stored in Heaven. We know the answer to this question but often we do not act as though we believe it to be true. We scurry about collecting and storing treasures that eventually we will leave behind in the charge of someone else. It would be good for us to focus more of that attention to sharing with others the love of God, explaining His mercy and forgiveness and showing how we trust in His provision and protection of our well being. God’s love is a wonderful and precious gift but we cannot put it on a shelf and hide it from others. It overflows from our heart and we are compelled to share that with everyone. Smile, speak kindly and show others how great is our God.
