Psalm 19:14...Think Before You Speak...
"May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight,
my Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.”
A recent study found that we speak, on average, about 15,000 words a day. That is quite a bit of noise coming from each of us. How well tempered is your speech? Do you think, or consider what you are about to say, before you allow the words to exit your lips? The truth is that we don’t pay as much attention to what we say as we should and that is a problem. Our voice is heard by many around us, especially those who are not directly engaged in our conversation (someone is always listening). Therefore we must be sure that we are sending the right message about who we are, our faith and our belief when we speak. Remember the scripture says that we should consider our speech to be seasoned with salt and good for everyone. A great start is to lift up the prayer of David, here in this verse, every morning asking God to keep our words and thoughts lifted toward Him. With God’s help all things are made better.
