2 Corinthians 4:16-18... The Light at the End of the Tunnel....
Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
If we look around us it is easy to lament about how much greater life seemed before. The nostalgia of the "good ole days” is filtered through the lens of forgetfulness and tempered with the flavor of longing for more simple times. God has a way of helping us to remember good times and great things and by the same token He removes the pain of hardships and struggles. We will encounter a rough patch from time-to-time and we will experience suffering, however we know that God has provided a hope and a comfort that is unmatched by anything else and that is found in Christ Jesus. We do not live our lives based on what we seen in front of us or by what surrounds us but rather by what we have been promised as our eternal glory. Praise God today for his renewal of our hearts and minds!
