Mark 12:28-31...Rock Your World...

One of the teachers of the law came and heard them debating. Noticing that Jesus had given them a good answer, he asked him, “Of all the commandments, which is the most important?” “The most important one,” answered Jesus, “is this: ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.' The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these.”

We may be asked by those around us a similar question. Or maybe you have been posed the question “what does it mean to be a Christian” or even the same question that was forwarded here, what is the greatest commandment? Jesus has made it clear that our prime directive is to love our God with all of our being, heart, mind, soul and strength. That is everything! And then to love others, always and like we love ourselves. What a huge difference and impact we can make in the world today if we simply follow these commands. Love, not hate. Mercy, not judgement. Grace, compassion, lovingkindness and pure, heartfelt care. When God has a grip on our heart His love overflows through us and everyone around us is the benefactor of that love.
