1 John 4:9-12...His Love, Your Love...
This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.
We have seen this week how special, unique, individual and chosen we are in the eyes of God. We have read about His great love and sacrifice that afford us the salvation that we so richly enjoy. That same love is the expression of God that we are called to share with the world around us. They do not understand compassionate love, forgiving love or undeserved love. Yet these are the attributes that we are expected to show daily. From within our hearts God caused love to overflow and allows us the distinct pleasure of sharing that abundant love with others. Kindness, compassion, charity and thoughtfulness are all by-products of this love. God has poured out His love upon each of us and we should therefore share our abundance with those surrounding us.
Blessings,
