Philippians 2:3-4...How may I Help?...
Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.
How do you start you day? Does your mind race with thoughts of things you need to do, people you need to see, appointments and meetings that you need to attend? This is the mindset that many believe belongs to the highly successful, however, what does that success bring other than the selfish desire to do more, obtain more, consume more and evidentially burn out or stress out. Paul is reminding us here in this letter that we should have the mindset of serving others first. He even goes as far as to say that we should always be looking at the interest of others before the interest of ourselves. This is difficult in the selfish world in which we live today, yet it is a goal to set and one we should try to reach. Look out for others today, there is a blessing to be found.
Blessings,
