Galatians 2:20-21...Grace Above All...
I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing!
So many people today continue to believe that there is way to heaven through good deeds and charitable giving. They are easily recognizable. They draw attention to their works and promote themselves and they good deeds above the gospel message. Good works and charity are both great things, something to aspire to, however, grace supersedes them both. For without grace we would have only these works and would fall far short of obtaining salvation, which requires no payment from us but is freely given by God. By accepting Jesus and His gift of grace and forgiveness we become empowered to show His love through good works and we are compelled to give charitably to those in need. Thank you Lord for the opportunities you set before me.
