Matthew 9:10-13...Share the Love of Christ
While Jesus was having dinner at Matthew’s house, many tax collectors and sinners came and ate with him and his disciples. When the Pharisees saw this, they asked his disciples, “Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners? ”On hearing this, Jesus said, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”
Without realizing it we find ourselves in the company of those that are of like mind and spirit. It is natural to enjoy the fellowship of those that that have the same moral compass and definition of right and wrong, however we find here that Jesus spent a good deal of His time in the company of those that needed Him most, those who knew Him the least. While we are comfortable in the company of those that we have common ground, we should also be available to share with everyone the message of what Christ has done in our life, how He has forgiven us and cleansed us and set our hearts and minds on His direction. We do not choose who God places in our path nor do we understand some of the circumstances that we may find ourselves, yet we should always know that God has a perfect plan for everything that we encounter in our lives. God loves us more than we can even imagine or comprehend.
