Matthew 8:5-7...Healing in Jesus' Word...
When Jesus had entered Capernaum, a centurion came to him, asking for help. “Lord,” he said, “my servant lies at home paralyzed, suffering terribly. ”Jesus said to him, “Shall I come and heal him?”
When we are troubled or need healing it is to Christ that we send our petitions. We do this because we know He is the great physician and healer. Time and again scripture shows us the compassion of Jesus and the healing power of His touch and His word. Here in this passage Jesus heals the centurion’s servant with just a word. No visit necessary, no touch, just the spoken word of Christ fulfilling the request and faith of the centurion. Our faith needs to be bound to our petitions as we bring them before the Lord. We know the power of prayer and we know the power that prayer brings on the trials that we face in our lives. Lay your burdens before God and take rest in His power.
