2 Corinthians 4:16-18...Our Eternal Hope...
Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
The first words of this passage present us with a firm message for the trials of this life and especially this year, “we do not lose heart.” As Christians we see beyond our troubles and focus on the things that are eternal. We are not swayed by the troubles that are at hand nor the fears of the day but rather we glorify God for what our future holds, for the promise of our eternal salvation. The world will not understand and those that create fear and stir up trouble will always be amazed at our resolve in Christ Jesus. We are being renewed each and every day as we study the Word of God. We are strengthened by His hand and we are loved beyond measure. Protect us Lord as we travel through this world…
