Luke 1:39-41...Leaping for Joy...

IMG_6466.jpg

“In those days Mary arose and went with haste into the hill country, to a town in Judah, and she entered the house of Zechariah and greeted Elizabeth. And when Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, the baby leapt in her womb. And Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit.”

The coming of the Messiah was the fulfillment of God’s promise. He would bring joy and excitement to all. Evidenced here, in these verses, Mary visited her relative, who was also pregnant, Elizabeth’s unborn child leapt for joy while being in the presence of Jesus, who at the time was yet to be born. This unbridled joy was a sign of what the world would also experience. When we walk with Christ and talk with Christ we should find joy, even calling out His name should well up excitement in our hearts. Allow yourself to remove the yoke of today’s troubles, clear your mind and just enjoy the comfort and delight that God brings to your heart. Feel like leaping for joy? Hallelujah!
