Matthew 5:43-46...Love you Enemies...
“You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that?"
Loving those who love you is easy. Being friendly to those who are pleasant and comfortable to be around is also easy. But there are those who rub us the wrong way or those who have wronged us that cause us to feel as though they are the enemy. These are the people that Jesus is telling us here to pray for and even to love. He reminds us that the sun and the rain are experienced by both the righteous and unrighteous and that we should reach out, at least in prayer, for those we consider to be enemies. We should work to become more like Jesus who saw the good in everyone and understood the need in every heart. Pray for those around you that seem to be against you. Pray that you might be a shinning example of God’s love.
