James 1:13-15..."My Bad"...

"When tempted, no one should say, “God is tempting me.” For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone; but each person is tempted when they are dragged away by their own evil desire and enticed. Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.”

We look around and everywhere we see people ready to cast blame on someone or something. It is the sport of the current society to shove blame into places where it does not belong. God is very clear in these verses to lay blame exactly where it belongs, with us as sinners. Our hearts are easily drawn away (dragged) by lust or something material that we covet. Blame lies within our own hearts and that is why we must rely on God’s mercy and grace and on His guidance to see us through. God provides a way for us escape the temptation of sin. Through salvation, His Word and by asking in prayer we can squelch the barrage of evil desire and live for Christ.

Blessings,

Alan
