Luke 2:11-14...Finding Jesus....

"'Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.' Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,'Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.’”

The shepherds had been given signs to know where to find baby Jesus but they still had to go looking through the stables and trying to find a newborn wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger. When they found Him it was evident immediately and they were overwhelmed with excitement and joy. This is the same excitement and joy that we should experience everyday. God sent His Son to us to save us from our sin. This miracle that we celebrate at Christmas is the joy of the greatest gift ever given, God’s love and mercy poured out before us. Thank you Lord.
