Luke 2:1-5...Follow the Path...

Christmas Star 2.jpg

"In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. (This was the first census that took place while Quirinius was governor of Syria.) And everyone went to their own town to register. So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child.”

Can you imagine all the things that were being thrown at Joseph and Mary during this time. Not only was Mary pregnant, but now she had to be out in public and travel to Bethlehem to be a part of the taxation and census that the government required. Yes the government was a pain even back then. And Mary wasn’t just pregnant, she was ready to give birth. That must have been exhausting travel for her, yet through all this she and Joseph prevailed, having heard from God and being assured that this was their chosen path. When we are ready to listen and follow God will provide the way, the means and the results.
