Luke 11: 11-13...Ask your Father...

“Which of you fathers, if your son asks for a fish, will give him a snake instead? Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!”

One of the main responsibilities of being a father is to provide for our children, both in leadership and basic needs. God specifically gives us fathers directive as to how to minister and raise our families and an example of the way in which we should provide for them. Jesus relates this close bond between father and his children as He explains that our Father in heaven will also provide for us. He goes further to remind us that though we are evil, fallen men, we still have the compassion and motivation to give good gifts to our children and how much more, oh so much more, that our Heavenly Father will bestow upon us as we seek after Him and ask for His provision.
