Luke 10:25-27...Love for All....
"On one occasion an expert in the law stood up to test Jesus. ‘Teacher,' he asked, 'what must I do to inherit eternal life?’ 'What is written in the Law?’ He replied. 'How do you read it?’ He answered, 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’”
Although the expert here was attempting to trap Christ with certain questions the tables were about to be turned. This is the beginning of the parable of the Good Samaritan and Jesus uses the storyline to show that we cannot only be kind and charitable to those we like or to those with which we have close relations, but rather that the whole of mankind is our neighbor and for that we should always be mindful of our calling to love one another. Above even that is our call to love God with our heart, all our soul and all our strength. With this as our anchor loving others becomes our natural course.
