Luke 21:1-4...It All Belongs to God...
"As Jesus looked up, he saw the rich putting their gifts into the temple treasury. He also saw a poor widow put in two very small copper coins. 'Truly I tell you,' he said, 'this poor widow has put in more than all the others. All these people gave their gifts out of their wealth; but she out of her poverty put in all she had to live on.’”
One of the most important revelations that the world needs to understand is that everything belongs to God. Period. We all struggle, at times, with this because our human nature is selfish and our pride gets in the way. We may be able to rest comfortably with the fact that we are merely custodians of the many riches God has bestowed upon, but are we becoming more generous? When we gain more do we still understand that God is our provision? Charity is easy out of plenty and we in this country have been richly blessed with plenty. Why then is it so hard for us to understand the principle of giving to the church and to others. We can not afford to let greed steal the blessing of charity.
