Luke 18:10-14...Look At Me......

“Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed: ‘God, I thank you that I am not like other people—robbers, evildoers, adulterers—or even like this tax collector. I fast twice a week and give a tenth of all I get.’
“But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, ‘God, have mercy on me, a sinner.’ “I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before God. For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.”

Today’s social environment is full of promoting oneself and making certain that others are aware of your accomplishments, even on a daily or hourly basis. As an informational tool this can be quite useful but the line is often crossed when it comes to comparison of ourselves to others. God is not interested in the fact that you think you are better than those around you. He is interested in your humbleness, your willingness to admit that you are a sinner and the acknowledgment that Christ died for those sins. Understanding our place before God gives us clear direction in how we should pray, how we should think and how we should treat others. Humble yourself before God and allow Him to work through you in everything you do.
