Philippians 2:3-4...A helping hand...
"Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.”
We spend a great deal of our time looking at what others have and determining what we think we should have. The thought then turns to what we think we are entitled to, or what the world owes us. Recently I saw a post that showed a blank piece of paper and was labeled, “This is the complete list of what you are entitled to and deserve.” How true!! It is not our lot in life to look for what is owed to us but rather to seek out the needs of others and to fulfill those needs. We are supposed to care more for others than we do ourselves. While this may seem to be a strange approach it works and yet we seem to come up short most of the time. We are here but a short while and consequently we should use our time wisely, stretch ourselves, seeking God’s direction and helping meet the needs of those surrounding us. Pause, take time to erase from your list that which you think you are owed and replace it with something you can do for others. What a blessing will await you at the end of your journey..
Blessings,
