1 John 3:16-17...Sharing is best...

"This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters. If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person?”

We have been instructed many times in the scripture to put others and their needs before our own. We are also told that we must become less in order to allow Christ to become greater in our lives. Both truths are the same in that we must take away the presence of selfishness in order to gain the full understanding and completion of God’s work through us. This is also an attitude of the heart that we must rely on God to help us through as it is against our human nature to put others and their needs before our own. Part of the love that Christ has instilled within our hearts is the charity that we have for those around us and how we display that charity is essential in how we show the love of Christ. Simple things in life express our attitudes toward others and we must be careful not to fall into the trap of isolation and separation from expressing the love of Christ. Pay close attention to your actions and find how you can share the love of God today.
