Ephesians 3:17-19...How Much?...

“…And I pray that you, being established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses all knowledge - that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.”

We often try to put God in a box, contain Him so that we can measure Him and try to understand His ways. Our feeble attempts at describing His awesome power fall woefully short and barely scratch the surface. Paul does his best above in prayer hoping that the people of his time would be able to grasp just how enormous is the love of Christ,and that in doing so they might be filled to the full measure of the fullness of God. That should be our prayer, today and everyday, that we experience the fullness of God. That we are so full of His love that it spills out to those around us and that we cannot help but share the immense joy that we feel in our hearts knowing that God is love and that He loved us first. It is understandable how excited Paul gets about the love of Christ when you start thinking about just how much love Christ has for us.
