Romans 12:9-13...Joyful, Patient, Faithful...
Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Share with the Lord’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality.
Serving the Lord is one of our greatest privileges and honor yet there are times that we get bogged down in the resistance to be our best. This is purely from the demonic forces of this world. Instead of feeling dejected or burdened we must not be lacking in our zeal to serve or our desire to cling to what is good. With all the evil that surrounds us daily it is very easy to be distracted or to forget that we are charged with purpose greater than most can understand. The latter portion of today’s verse is a great comfort and a fantastic instruction for life. “Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.” What a difference we might make in the world around us if we use these instructions as our guide! Love on each other and let the joy of your heart show in the smile on your face…
Blessings,
